Hey guys,
I hope you all are doing great! Have you guys heard of this thing called BookTube-A-Thon? I’m a huge fan of BookTube. I have many, many favorite YouTubers that I trust with giving great book recommendations and that’s why I’m so excited to be getting in on this BookTube-A-Thon challenge!
Can I get a woot woot?! *Woot Woot!*
Anywaysssss. 😀 If you’re sitting there asking yourself, “What is this BookTube-A-Thon you speak of?” Click this link —-> *Clickety Click* and all your questions shall be answered.
I know what some of your are thinking. “You’re not a BookTuber.” BUT HEY. I love books, you hopefully love books, let’s all read books together. You don’t need to be a BookTuber to participate in this read-a-thon. So, I truly hope you all will take part.
This read-a-thon runs from today, July 24th to July 30th. 😀
Let’s get down to business now – THE CHALLENGES.
1. Read a Book with a Person on the Cover
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
I picked up this book the other day while I was at this bookstore. One of the employees walked by and was raving about it. So, obviously, I had to buy it. Plus! There’s a person on the cover…. you see it?!
2. Read a Hyped Book
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Leigh Bardugo is a really a hyped author! I haven’t read anything from her yet and I’m excited to started with this book. But I wanted to check out this book before diving into Six of Crows.
3. Finish a Book in One Day
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
I’ve heard that this book is addicting, so I anticipate I’ll be able to complete this book in no time. The story is about children who have escaped through magical portals, like that of Narnia and Wonderland. Sounds intriguing.
4. Read About a Character that is Very Different From You
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
I am super excited to dive into this book. The main character, Simon, is much different from myself. He’s a teenage boy that’s gay. I’m female, straight and not so much a teenager anymore. I can’t wait to get a feel for Simon’s world.
5. Finish a Book Completely Outdoors
Saga: Chapter 3 by Brian k. Vaughan and Fiona Staples
I finished the first two chapters of Saga last year. While they weren’t my favorite, the are enough for me to give them another chance. This comic is just short enough for me to finish at the beach.
6. Read a Book you Bought Because of the Cover
The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
I actually picked up this book from Barnes and Noble, not knowing at all what this book was about. I really did just buy it because of the cover. I also was just in a book buying mood and it was on sale! So…. there you go.
7. Read 7 Books
I’ve decided to just wing this last one. If I make it through the rest of this TBR list, I’ll randomly pick up a book that intrigues me.
Well, there you have it. Let me know below if you plan on joining the BookTube-a-Thon!
xoxo Samantha

You have picked an amazing TBR for the BookTube-A-Thon! I wanted to join in this year, but unfortunately my work has other plans for me! I hope you smash it! I finished Every Heart A Doorway this month, and it is a very quick read so I hope you enjoy.

Ready Player One is one of my all-time favorite books! I hope you enjoy it and good luck with the BookTube-a-Thon. You’ve picked quite a few good reads so hopefully the event is a success for you. I’m participating in the Biannual Bibliothon myself. This time around it is running July 23-29, so I’m making pretty decent progress so far. I’ve read two books and I’m partway through my third book.
