Hey guys,
I disappeared there for a minute. Apparently, I have the curse of invisibility. Ha. I’m just getting back into the swing of things with school and it’s already sucking the life out of me. Somehow, I managed to finish some books last month:
Never Never (Parts 1, 2, & 3) by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I have an obsession with Colleen Hoover books. But you guys, DO NOT READ THIS. I was beyond disappointed where with this story ended up. It remembered me of fairy tale stories I tell my nephews – with no plot thickness. Just easy and fluffy. There’s a reason I tell my nephews them and not my 22 year-old brother. Come on! *dramatic eye roll* With that being said, I enjoyed part 1. It had so much potential until it crashed and burned….then lit up the entire town. FAIL.
Emerald Green by Kerstin Gier
I finally finished this series and eh. This book is the third in the Ruby Red trilogy. I don’t think I was as dedicated to these characters in this last one. I actually felt somewhat confused half the time. I am thankful it wrapped up in a way that made sense. It gave me more clarification into character relationships. Also, I really enjoyed the small character details. All in and all, it was an OK read.
Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
OMG. This book just crushed me and then brought me back to life. This is the Colleen Hoover I know and love. I was brought to tears in moments and others, my heart was floating. I’m probably going to re-read this book soon because I loved it so much. The characters were amazing. The relationships were amazing. The plot was amazing! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson
I wrote a full review on this book, so I’m not going to say as much here. But I’m definitely starting to follow this author. She’s producing some good work.
With how busy the month of September was, I’m impressed I finished most of the books that were on my monthly TBR. What books did you guys read?
xx Samantha

Hi!! Great post!! I have Emerald Green in my TBR for 4 years now and I just never buy it –‘ I really enjoyed the first two books but it was so long ago…. I would like to know on why does that happen (time traveling), will it always be like that or is there something she actually has to do to end the time traveling… But I’m still not sure if I should pick them up again or not… any thoughts?

Without spoiling it, I will say that some questions go unanswered. The first two books were also a lot better than the last one, in my opinion.

I’m wondering if the publishers or the co-author couldn’t agree on the ending she wanted or something.

Yeah I was thinking that maybe the publishers just pushed for them to write a novel together

I wouldn’t be surprised because the ending was not a Hoover ending.
