Hey guys,
I’m new to the ARC world, but I can definitely say that I’m loving it. If you haven’t the slightest idea what an ARC is…let me tell you. An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) is a free new book given by a publisher, usually prior to the book’s mass print date. ARCs are granted to bloggers, booksellers, librarians, journalist, etc. in hope of popularizing the book.
I signed up to receive ARCs through Netgalley, which has provided me with e-copies of new books. I’ve filled my August ARC TBR with three books.
1. The Assassin Game by Kirsty McKay
I finished this book earlier in the month, to know more about it you can read my review here: CLICK. I have definitely seen and heard a lot of different reviews for this book. Although I enjoyed it, there were definitely people who were un-entertained by the story. I say if you like Pretty Little Liars, give it a try.
2. One Was Lost by Natalie Richards
As we slowly approach fall, I have been overly interested in horror stories. One Was Lost follows a group of high school seniors embarking on a school camping trip. The trip takes a turn for the worst when these teens wake up with half of their group missing and their chaperone unconscious. It slowly becomes clear that they are being hunted.
3. A Forest of Wolves by Chelsea Luna
A Forest of Wolves is the second novel in the Uprising series. The series follows a seventeen year old named Mila. Mila’s father is a high ranking member of the royal court, who has plenty of enemies. Their family lives in Prague Castle, which Mila has never step outside of. The story takes place in the early 1600s. As Mila vetures outside of the castle walls, she begins to uncover the real truths about her life and the castle.
4. The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco
This story follows a young witch named Tea. Tea has been gifted or cursed with the ability of necromancy, making her a bone witch. She discovers this after resurrecting her brother from the dead. After seeking guidance from an older bone witch, she is taken to another land to receive training against the dark forces that are soon to set in.
The month is already half way through, hopefully I get to finish all these books in time!
xx Samantha
I received The Bone Witch as well. I was really excited for it but it just wasn’t my cup of tea once I read it. Let me know what you think of it!
