Hey guys,

If you haven’t noticed I am really, really bad at keeping up with my TBR. It’s actually quite embarrassing. Although I was pretty satisfied with the amount and quality of the books I read in July, I didn’t nearly complete the July TBR list I had plan. But it’s a new month and new book beginning. So, let’s what we got.

1. The Assassin Game by Kristy McKay

I received a e-copy of this book from Netgalley, so a big thank you to Sourcebooks Fire for selecting me to receive this ARC. I’m actually already half way through this book and I am loving it. Basically, it follows a group of teenagers who attend a boarding school and have been selected to participate in a elite secret society. Once initiated into the society, the game begins. Killer is a game where a series of pranks are cast on the members of the society and the individual must guess who the killer is before everyone is “dead”.  Except, the game becomes a little too real.

2. The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks

Have you guys seen the Shannara Chronicles? I recently watched the first season of the show through NetFlix and it is awesome! The Sword of Shannara inspired the show and it is the first book in The Original Shannara Trilogy. The book follows Shea, a boy half human and half elfin, who finds out his destiny is to save the world for a dead Warlock Lord.

3. Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher

I had to add a Colleen Hoover into the mix. I plan to read all three parts of Never, Never this month. I actually don’t know much about the books, but that excites me and I’m interested to see what these two authors have in store.

Yes, the TBR is short this month. I am committing most of my time to reading the Sword of Shannara because the novel is definitely on the longer side. Let me know below if you have any must read books for August.
