June Wrap-Up

Hey guys,

I am so thankful that summer is here. Despite working like crazy between work and school, I’d say this summer is going great so far.  I have yet to enjoy a good read on the beach, but there is still plenty of time for that. (Why can’t it be a beach day every day?) Last month I remember claiming that I hadn’t read many books within the month, well… it’s apparent that I’m continuing that trend. Below is the list of books I read in the month of June…

1. Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

13496084

This book is the sequel to the first novel in the series, Slammed. I absolutely loved Slammed, but for some reason it took me a while to pick up the next book. The series is about a girl named Layken who experiences various hardships and challenges that change her life forever. There’s so much heartbreak within this book, that I couldn’t help but feel so much.

2. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

THIS NOVEL IS EVERYWHERE. I swear, it was popping up on my feed left and right. I couldn’t escape it’s beautiful cover. So, like any good book lover….I HAD to read it. (Or well, listen to it. Audible, baby!) The Unexpected Everything is just as it sounds. The main character, Andie’s summer is turned upside down. All the plans she had perfectly set are completely hindered and she left to figure out who she really is through all the mess that is left behind. I actually wrote a review on this book, so head over to that page for a better review.

3. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

15717943AH! I love Colleen Hoover. So, I’ve read a lot of reviews on this book and I was so disappointed by them. Many claimed that they were outraged by the book and the idea of falling for the ‘badboy.’ To those reviewers I have various things to say, but I will them somewhat civil. Firstly, never admit that you only read the first chapter of a book when giving a review, that completely nulls your opinion. Secondly, there’s so much more to understand. Hopeless dives into hard issues we face and how we as humans respond to them. Yes, the love story just adds to it, but come on… Colleen Hoover is on fire!

Definitely a romance kind of month, but hey! I can’t help it, it’s those summer vibes. What did you guys read this month?
