I have been doing a lot of thinking lately with all the tragic and devastating events happening in the world today, specially in Florida. My heart goes out to the families who are experiencing loss and those affected by such evilness. We cannot possibly begin to understand why such things happen, but I pray for hope to stay among those pressed down by grief. I also pray that grace spreads and blinds those who need to see the real truth, especially in their hurtful actions.
“It isn’t Narnia, you know,” sobbed Lucy. “It’s you. We shan’t meet you there. And how can we live, never meeting you?”
“But you shall meet me, dear one,” said Aslan.
“Are -are you there too, Sir?” said Edmund.
“I am,” said Aslan. “But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there.”
~ The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C. S. Lewis
This quote reminds me of Jesus’ prayer in John 17.
